Pulp Gamer 22: Winding Down the Old Ways
We start by giving away the copy of Three Dragon Ante from the last show and then give away another great game. We then go on to talk about some of the feedback we received about putting together a game world. It sounds like this one is on ice.
We crossed attention with a couple of podcasts that we discussed on the show. These included The Podcast Junkie and Groovy Gamers Groovecast.
Jeremiah mentions his desire to explore Dreamblade and shares information about an online demo that caught his attention.
The largest portion of our show was spent talking about the Games Research Project, a survey that was taken with the cooperation at Ohio State University with the help of GAMA and The Wargamer. Some of the interesting statistics that came out of it are discussed on the show.
Pulp Gamer 21: Dragon*Con Debriefing 2006
Don returns home to report on the joy and chaos that is Dragon*Con. When he wasn’t tipping the bottle, he was spending time in the podcasting track with some great people. We also give away the Ptolus poster mentioned in a previous show and prepare to give away a copy of Three-Dragon Ante.
The gaming in podcasting panel was made of up Jim Van Verth of The Vintage Gamer, Sam Chupp of The Bear’s Grove, Bobby Blackwolf of The Bobby Blackwolf Show, Carline represented Gamer: The Podcasting, and Don was there from our crew at Pulp Gamer. You can listen to this show at conlive.gamingpodcasters.com.
A special thanks goes to those that put the work into putting that track together. Some of them include Tracy Hickman (DragonHearth), Mur Lafferty (Geek Fu Action Grip), Derek and Swoopy (Skepticality), and of course Jim Van Verth (The Vintage Gamer).
The live podcasts Don attended included The Signal an Wingin’ It.
Don also witnesses the first annual parsec awards. Information on the nominees, winners, and more about the podcasting track is available at parsecawards.com. As a side note, we also dive into a lot of detail on what a parsec is. More information and entertainment in podio fiction is available at podiobooks.com.
We also kick around the idea of putting together either a fantasy or science fiction setting. We haven’t decided which yet and ask for your opinion.
