Just wanted to correct what sounded like a little confusion about the history of the various "Civilization" games ('cuz, you know, someone on the Internet is wrong!).

1980/1991 - Civilization/Advanced Civilization - the 8-10 hour monster game I think you were referring to on the podcast. This preceded (and in fact inspired) Sid Meier's civilization video game(s).

1991 - Civilization video game by Sid Meier, followed by many sequels, expansions, and spinoffs.

2002 - Sid Meier's Civilization. A ~3 hour game designed by Glenn Drover and Eagle games. Generally not well thought of. *This* one was based on the video game.

2010 - FFGs Sid Meier's Civilization. The new, Kevin Wilson one, again inspired by the video games. Again in the 3-hour-ish area.

Fixed now! :)

Thanks for the detailed history, Chris, and thanks for listening!

FIrst time listener, always heard Dan on the D6G and thought I'd try it out. Interesting show, but I have to correct the grumpy guy. (In my personal lexicon, you are Dan, quiet-but-deep-voice guy, girl guy, and then grumpy guy.) I can't find a cast list, so I don't know who that is. (Quiet-but-deep-voice is the one who asked for the product listing on the Red Box to make up his mind AFTER seeing what was in it.)

Grumpy guy says that the Warhammer RP's adventurer's kit doesn't give you what you need to add another player. Dan was right. We added another player by buying the toolkit. Grumpy guy has a point in that if you buy two or three, you will be buying too many extra career cards. But you can't say that it doesn't give you that fourth player.

Sounds like Grumpy Guy might be Jeff.

Thanks for the notes, John. We appreciate the feedback. You should be able to get a good feel for who's who at the beginning of each episode when we introduce ourselves. And yes, Jeff gets pegged as "The Grumpy Guy" in most our shows, which is why all hatemail can go directly to jeffreynormanbourbeau@gmail.com! ;)

Let me just say, for the record, that Jeff is not grumpy in person. The concerns that Jeff points out, about games, are things that anyone interested in that game should consider before making a purchase.
