PGOC 071: Bon Voyage! |
|
We are now headed of to the Caribbean with Gamer Adventures and Mayfair Games! We'll do some recording on the boat so you can share it at least some of the fun. We touched on a handful of board games, to include Catan Geographies Germany, Hey! That's my fish!, Monuments, The Dutch Golden Age, and Formula D. Asmodee has a new customer service email, contact_us@asmodee.com. On the topic of RPGs, we discuss White Wolf's, Seers of the Throne for Mage the Awakening. That ended up launching an entire discussion about designing good antagonists for your roleplaying game. Berin gives us a good look at Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook II and gave us links to all sorts of blogs on the topic.

I think Don hit on a good point with the villain motivation when he says to have the antagonist be someone that thinks he's doing the right thing. As a longtime GM, this is why I've always said that Lawful Evil was the best alignment.
I heard on All Games Considered #99, that there is a South Carolina law that outlawed cards and dice because it could be gambling. It is one of those old laws that have been on the books for years that people forgot about. However, the article stated that it could mean that playing Monopoly would be illegal. I thought that you would like hearing that if you needed a reason to move there. :-)
Yes, indeed settlers has been translated into hebrew. thanks for the heads-up :)
