PGOC 078: Memorable Characters |
|
Our main topic of which we spend a great deal of time on is how to bring characters to life, both as a GM/Storyteller and as a player character. The games referenced in today's show include Night Horrors, FBI, Innocents, Duck Duck Go, and Forgotten Realms. |

Great show. I enjoyed it on my walk this morning. There are two items that I want to bring up to you guys. First, for a few years at Origins, there was a LARP called Prawn that took place in one of the hotel's swimming pools. Everyone played a sea creature. So, Duck, Duck, Go does not sound too absurd.
Second, Ken Hite is his book "Dubious Shards" talked about the difference between RPGs like D&D and Vampire compared to CoC. He said in the first two, you are playing basically a superhero while in CoC, you are playing regular average person, maybe with some smarts or skills but nothing that a normal person would not be able to have. In his opinion, CoC takes a regular person and makes them stand against the darkness to save their love ones. That is a lot harder to do when you cannot cast a fireball.
