Hi! Working on the "knowledge and secrets" book I mentioned before I've hit a sort of snag. Doing research I've found it is a somewhat conversational issue. The snag concerns alignment, particularly in D&D 3.5ed.
In my setting I have a group that's very secretive who steals knowledge so as a contrast I created a group that's the opposite, who thinks everything should be in the open. They are an authoritarian group who invades privacy with magic and I could even see them using torture against the really bad guys. (This of course adds unintentional political commentary as well.)
The problem is, what alignment are they? I was thinking they would be LE, and so I was thinking the leader is a blackguard and the rest of the group of paladins who are too naive don't realize it, but I'm not sure how believable that is considering the existence of detect good/aura of evil. Also the fact is their torturing not for ti's own sake, but for what they beleive is good makes me learn to lawful neutral.
I'd rather not have to redesign the alignment system as part of the book if I don't have to (though the alignment system has been bugging me, and I've considered trying)
Thanks!

I looked back at that e-mail I referred about the OGL license and I realized I didn't read it very clearly. He does make the distinction between the OGL and D20 licences, and basically says what I beleive you said about the OGL being still around and the D20 license (the logo) being dead. Oops.

Keep plugging the content of the listeners. Pulp Gamer corespondent are thouhtful and thought provoking.
Tom G is truly a satelite star for Pulp Gamer.
Wow! Thanks Brian. I've been trying to be more thoughtful and thought provoking but I tend to use up my allotment of thinks at work. But I'll try to reserve some this week. I don't know about 'star' but thanks for the comment. I'll keep feeding back as long as the guys keep talking. It's about time for an appearance by The Magnum Opus too. Hmmmm.
Oh, and check out Go Forth and Game at tomgurg.wordpress.com.

Thanks for the air time folks.
Glad Jess is back and I'm enjoying One Geek, Jess.
I can't remember any more right now. I don't have my notes with me. So expect some more on this and the next episode soon.
Go Forth and Game your pants back up.

Brian is right, the reason we have such fun on these feedback shows is because our feedback is so thoughtful, often hilarious, and very fruitful to discuss. Pulp Gamer listeners are the best listeners in the world! We really appreciate everyone who takes the time to leave us feedback.
SNAP! BAM! That's what I get for falling behind on the shows! Well, I may not be the best GM in Tucson, but that's because I live in unincorporated Pima County.

Once again great show, it's great to hear your respond to feedback. I was a little surprised to see my blogmarks on the notes, and I'm not sure why it was worthy of mention, you didn't say on the show itself. Oh well, I guess it's cool it got mentioned.
To clarify on the "leadership" thing, I was a player in all those cases. I'm no longer a part of any of bossy cleric's group. (That character had other issues. She fell in love with a NPC who died and then stopped caring about living, doing dangerous things like jumping off a cliff into deep water in full armor). I wish I had thought of those ways of dealing with the cleric then. Oh well.
And if I didn't respond to an e-mail in a few days, it's probibly because I never got it, and people should feel free to try Foolster(AT)Juno.com to be sure I get it though I've had problems sometimes with messages not getting to me for some reason there.
And yes I'm a guy.
