Really liked hearing about Fiasco, I've been a huge Coen Bros. fan for ages. Definitely going to have to look at picking this one up. Also interested in the science fiction set of Dungeon Decks, that sounds cool.
My only wish is that I could have been there.
Origins was fun although I think the GAMA staff and volunteers made a few critical failures on customer service based on some incidents with fellow gamers I know. I enjoyed playing a few Call of Cthulhu games and had fun in the dealers room, too. I have been hearing some interesting reviews on Fiasco, as well, so I will need to check it out.
In regards to games set in Chicago, I am actually of the position that I do not want games set in either New York or LA. I want games in places like Chicago, Atlanta, Cincinnatti, San Francisco or Phoenix. There is a whole world out there and we need diversity. :-)
I won't comment on not knowing what Hyperboria is. You can do a search for it.
In regards to the "No Podcasting" sign that you mentioned at the end of the cast, was that just in that specific area or convention wide? Also, why was it there?
Anyway, thanks for the show and keep up the great casts!
The 'No Podcasting' sign was supposed to read 'no LIVE podcasting' as the bandwith we had in the press room was limited. It was hilarious watching these guys record this podcast sunday mid-morning. The con-hangovers were evident!

Good Show! It is always good to here about Origins. I enjoyed the guest hosts. It is good to hear Tevis back on the air. And I was glad to hear from Mike Selinker. I've been wondering what Lone Shark is up to and now I know some of it.
Lords of Vegas sounds like a winner to me. I'm very interested in hearing more. So tell us.
Dresden Files - finally and what a splash it has made. I've been reading Fred Hicks' blogs about it and how enormous it is for Evil Hat. Well done. It makes me want to read the books.
How We Came To Live Here - been following this one for a while now on Voice of the Revolution and Story Games. The two 'GM' mechanic sounds really neat and I am interested in playing this one.
Fiasco - what can I say that I haven't already said about it. It is super duper awesome. We playtested a new playset this weekend - Action 6 News!. Lots of fun as a couple of brothers and a local rival sports anchor get into trouble over a tape of the two rival anchors in an orgy with high school cheerleaders. In the end the brothers are in bad shape living at home with mom and dad while the senior anchor and the station janitor turned new anchor, Janos, come out smelling like roses. So much fun. You must play this game. And while you're at it, play my playset Reconstruction.
Crocodile Games - need to check them out. I may be getting into minis soon as my son is very interested in Flames of War and Warhammer 40000.
Same for Mantic Games.
Settlers of America is on the buy list.
Thanks for the coverage of Origins.

Ok, I am SOconfused... This was my first Origins and while I did have a wonderful time, overall I got the feeling that attendance was really down (based on what I've read and seen about past Origins)and most of the retailers I spoke with were unhappy yet you opened this episode saying that attendance was "way up!" Where doth the truth lie, guys...
Here is the Origins coverage from icv2.

Well, unless my math is wrong (and I'm a right-brain, so that is entirely possible), attendance was up 967 people this year... Not entirely sure that that qualifies for "way up!"... Either way, it is sad that it has dropped over 3,500 attendees in two years... That is not a great sign... :-(

Scott,
I would say that going from -3500 to +967 is a significant turn-around, but your right, "way up!" is hard to quantify as it is a qualitative term. I just know that most businesses would be happy with an increase like that. The point is that we are headed in the right direction again.

Thanks for the plug guys! We have an after Origins special going on right now too! Use code ORIGINS10 to get 10% of your entire order until July 21st.
Thanks again,
Brian
